Beginners and Social Runners

The Penguins are made up of beginners, slower and social runners whose goal is to train up and maintain for half marathons (21km). The week day training runs are 5km in distance with races or longer runs over weekends. We suggest you contact us prior to joining us for your first run so that we know to look out for you!

This flat run either takes runners along the Promenade or loops through the Green Point Park.

Flat, easy running along the promenade to Clifton.

Beginners: Lower Cable Station (Summer Run) Tafelberg Road

We start at the last parking lot on Tafelburg Road, and run towards Devil's Peak. This is a hilly run but manageable by everyone. The second half is much easier than the first half. The 5km turnaround point is at the end of the tarred section of the Devil’s Peak path and the 3.5km turnaround point is at the top of the last hill.
